I feel sorry for people who have to do much of their listening on headphones, no matter how good they may be.

I haven't heard anything, but it's early yet -- especially if it's going to be a November release.

    From Expecting Rain:

Confirmed by Derek Barker of ISIS magazine (issue 192): The Bootleg Series Vol. 13 will focus on 1979-1981. Collectors' edition in 21 x 22 cm box, two books, possibly 8 discs (some of which will be DVDs). Mix of studio and live material.

Considering the amount of available material, live/studio, video, it's not a massive release.

That sounds lovely. I'm in for this Collectors edition. Hopefully, they produce a lavish box with hi res downloads.

Hopefully a 3lp set. Two LPs of studio, one LP concert.

Would be cool if one of the discs is a Blu-Ray with all of the live material from that era. (presuming it would fit on one BD).

Sounds good. Probably a 2CD/3LP version with highlights as well. I'm in for the collector's edition. :)

I can't speak to it, but I'd guess what was described as a "Collector's Edition" in the ISIS report wasn't meant to imply a comprehensive studio collection along the lines of the Cutting Edge 18CD set. I suspect it'll be another Deluxe Edition, matching the approach of the TTS, ASP, BTC, and CE6CD sets. But I find the 8 disc number encouraging, as it implies the video content may not crowd out an extensive audio overview.

    More from Expecting Rain:

More from ISIS 192: "The audio will feature a lot of unreleased material, including studio versions of songs from this period which were performed in concert. There is believed to be a goodly amount of studio material that is new to most Dylan fans."

Great news to have this now officially locked in. A bit disappointed they didn't pull anything from the Street Legal sessions since this - in many respects - forms a crucial lead into Dylan's Christian phase. In any case, very excited for this one.

Agreed those dimensions mentioned about the box match the "deluxe version" size. 2 books and possibly 8 discs should make a very nice curated set. Getting very excited about this set and its only June!

I don't care if Bob plagerized most of this stuff from the Bible. I'm going to buy this thing so hard it won't know what happened to it.

Great to hear some news about this. '79-'81 Dylan is my favourite Dylan. Eight discs sounds like a promising number to me. Hope we finally get the official release of "Yonder Comes Sin."

Does anyone have a sensible list of what might exist, studio- and/or demo-wise? Or what songs were presumably only performed live? Are the session logs known & complete from this era?

Eight discs seems like either a lot or not nearly enough!
