I was just watching a Bon Iver episode of Austin City Limits - it makes me sad to think about the garbage press of Emma that I had..... guess I will listen to my CD rip this winter :)

I have the CD. Never played it so much. I got a blood clot in the right eye in early 2014 and the vision was like the window on the cover. It slowly became better but I have a blind spot in the peripheral vision toward the nose. Maybe I should listen to it now, although I get the creeps from the cover. My dog Scott, who died in August, was blind from diabetes the last months, so eyes lately.. :yikes:

I think this is the perfect album to get you through a Norwegian winter.

Pulled out my LP copy, bought close to the same time that this thread started.

Generally quiet, but I have a swooshing sound at the beginning of each side...tapers off fairly quickly.

The original that was released sounds nice to my ears. This particular release is worth the hunt for the "nice sounding" version.

So does anyone have the UK 4AD press and comment on its quality? It's on my wantlist but I'm hesitant given the reviews.

I have it. Not the best pressing, but one of the best albums - 100% worth getting, it sounds great.

Will probably pick it up on my next trip. Listened to it a lot on my trip to Iceland last year, which was one of the best experiences of my life, so this means a lot to me.

    Older thread bump.

Has anyone seen the reissue of this that was just released? I’m curious if it will sound better than the original which was just okay. It has a second LP of extras.

Wow. I was not aware of a new version. What are the extras?!

Just googled it. There is no second LP of extras....

Oops, I looked at it fast and then was reading along here. Thanks for correcting me.

I’m really curious about this. I never thought the LP sounded great and ended up selling it because I never played it. There isn’t a lot of info though to know if it’s a different master.

It just seems to be a new sleeve and an extra essay. It is one of the best Albums of the past 15 years in my opinion. Worth having on vinyl if you don't already..

I have the CD but thought the vinyl was bad, guess I’m a minority’s there. I’ll wait, maybe someone on here will get it and post a review.

Not the best pressing in the last 15 years - that is just OK, but the songs are the best!

I got the new edition today and just gave it a listen. It definitely sounds a lot better, quiet pressing without any weird wooshing noises.

Any idea if it’s been remastered at all? My original vinyl has a severely wooshy side 2, so much so that I can’t bare to put it on the turntable, even tho it’s one of my favourite albums. I will wait to see if this new pressing continues to get good reports here before I buy. Thanks for taking the time to post.

I’ll report back when I get mine. Tracking says mine will be here Thursday.

The original sounded so bad I got rid of it so I’m hoping this will be a big improvement.
