RIP to both a fine actor and to the sadly diminishing talented generation.
With Attenborough's is David McCallum the last surviving principal cast member of the Great Escape?

  5. John Leyton (Willie the Tunnel King), and Angus Lennie (Flying Officer Archibald Ives-the Mole) are still on this side of the fence.

  6. His best-known works to younger viewers are his performances in the Jurassic Park movies and his directing work in 1982's "Gandhi"...RIP, Sir Richard...

Hopefully they saved some of his DNA...

Seriously though, R.I.P. The Jurassic Park movies wouldn't have been the same without him.

    RIP

Obituary, tribute and clips here: http://fridaynightboys300.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/richard-attenborough-rip.html

Good actor (Seance on a Wet Afternoon, anybody?) and an often underrated director (A Chorus Line, Bridge Too Far etc as well as the more obvious Cry Freedom, Ghandi, Shadowlands and Chaplin).

I guess a lot of people will remember him from Jurassic Park, but we've lost a real connection to the cinema of our past.

Yeah, when I saw his name online it sounded familiar but I couldn't remember from what...

Jurassic Park is all I've seen him in but he was good in that.

He starred in one of my fav feel good movie, 'Bliss Of Mrs. Blossom'. Directed a film which featured my favorite Anthony Hopkins performance, 'Magic'.
    RIP.
