Oh, and that went real well... :sigh:

I think it can be done well or done badly, but there are some projects that lend themselves better to the idea than others. A comedy Dark Shadows I can buy.

You've got it all wrong. It's more like X-men the Family.

That was the show that taught me, just because you have it all DVR'd, doesn't mean you have to actually watch it! :D

Poor, poor Hollywood...doubling-down on a bad idea by throwing a name onto it, just to get press.

Yep....the "fertile" minds of Hollywood have dried up and blown away. Wonder what they'll screw up next?

In the real world, I don't expect a re-booted MUNSTERS to last very long. We're talking about NBC here, so that's one big strike against it.

But I have to caution the naysayers that a lot of what's being said here was probably said about a Sci-Fi reboot of BATTLESTAR: GALATCTICA. A female Starbuck? It'll never work...

Funny, the local morning radio guys were talking about this and gasped a BIG OMG on the thought of this happening.

They just can't leave anything alone anymore.........:sigh:

The fertile minds haven't dried up, there are plenty of writers around doing good, original things. It just the studios won't touch anything that doesnt have a franchise attached to it. Pathetic. We need the seventies again when there were risk takers and directors called the shots.

Doesn't money still talk, though? If the original stuff that does make it to the theaters was as good as it should be, wouldn't the ticket sales be bearing that out?

I looks like TV, like film industry have decided to follow the Broadway model. Just go and remake everything, and once in a while, put out something new and original. How many times have Broadway gone and remade the same shows year after year. Hollywood figures if they do it enough, the public will just accept it.

...what makes them think this will work?

I think the problem with ticket sales is the price of admission...it's hard for many to crack the nut of a pair of tickets and refreshments...If the prices were lower we'd see a huge difference...

Too bad. I was looking forward to it. I loved Bryan Fuller's "Pushing Daisies", so I'll give anything he does a shot.
