1-hour dramatic pilots often cost between $6 million and $10 million -- sometimes more. Infamously, the Lost pilot went overbudget to $2 million, but that was a huge cast with very difficult shooting situations: transporting a broken-up 747 to a deserted beach in Hawaii.

Call me crazy, but this does not look like my idea of The Munsters:

  13. Jerry's Herman--he's still a "Monster" so-to-speak as he's bright back from the dead and made from a variety of body parts just not old bolt neck.

sorry, not fitting for a Munster...the whole premise of the show was based on the Look of the family not the demons inside. The Munsters actually were decent folk not monsters.;)

The pilot of the Lost jet was actor Greg Grunberg (better known as the cop from Heroes), who is one of J.J. Abrams' best friends. He died pretty soon after the jet crashed, the first victim of the smoke monster.

Unless you mean the "other" kind of pilot... :sigh:

are you kidding me?...I was responding to your POSTING referring to the PILOT of LOST? Ya know the one that you were yapping about that cost Millions to produce and I responded on how I wish it would have CRASHED AND BURNED so I would not have wasted all those years on that swill...

So, did anyone watch this reboot thing? I DVR'd it but haven't seen it yet. The commercials looked godawful, didn't they?

I think "Superman Returns" was the last American mega-budget blockbuster filmed in Australia. Wonder why :(

I did. It was okay, but not spectacular. It did look great and there were some fun bits. Lily's first apperance where the spiders spin a silk dress onto her body was cool. And the gag where we first see Herman in silhouette with what looks to be bolts on the side of his neck was funny. We don't know how the pilot would have been different if it weren't a self-contained one off, but given Fuller and Singer's involvement, I would have given it at least a few more episodes. I liked the woman who played Marilyn.

I liked it lots. Not sure about Jerry as Herman, though - he just seemed a little too personality-free. Other than that, it seemed like a typical Bryan Fuller show, which is a-okay by me.

Portia de Rossi just keeps getting better looking with each show, doesn't she?

I'd have stuck around for the whole series.
