I crack up every time I hit the homepage with Steve's tweet. And here it is again... too funny.

I love this YT channel, some Norm fan that puts together all these compilations of topic specific stuff.

    RIP Burt

His movies were always entertaining to me when I was a kid. I used to love the outtakes from the end of the Cannonball Run films. It looked like it was a blast doing a film with Burt. He was always so funny. Great actor as well.

I thought The Longest Yard was his best movie. Cool Hand Luke with mustache. ¿quién es moore macho?

Gave Smokey & the Bandit a full viewing this weekend in memory of Burt.

Laughed my ass off. The charming rogue he plays works perfectly against the insane Jackie Gleason. What a pairing.

I watched White Lightning on Video On Demand in memory of Burt.

Seems to me Smokey and the Bandit is a more family friendly, campy version of White Lightning. So many similarities that I believe Smokey and the Bandit was built on the bones of White Lightning.

We're losing all the great hairy arm tough guy actors at an alarming rate. I enjoyed Burt's appearance on an episode of the tv show Burn Notice, which was filmed in Florida.

City Heat wasn't the greatest film, although I remember Burt shining a bit more in this 30's crime caper.

yes, agree. I liked his role in some Jill Clayburgh vehicle in the 80's, he was very low key. Movie was notable for Candice Bergen's (intentionally) horrendous singing

That was the film he got ill, injury got really thin after, didn't work for awhile.

From New York Times' interview with Sally Field, published today....

Sally Field Talks About Her Life ‘In Pieces’

    Regarding Burt Reynolds -

“This would hurt him,” Field said following Reynolds’ death last week at the age of 82. “I felt glad that he wasn’t going to read it, he wasn’t going to be asked about it, and he wasn’t going to have to defend himself or lash out, which he probably would have. I did not want to hurt him any further.”

Wow, haven't seen that one for along time. Yeah, I remember that was surprisingly good.

Found the newest Entertainment Weekly in my mailbox. No tribute to Burt. One more reason I'm letting my subscription run out.

BTW, the pressed DVD of "Stroker Ace" that was issued in the late 1990s is a pan and scan print while the Archive Collection DVD-R remasters it to its original widescreen. The P&S DVD now goes over for $10 used online.
