For those acid/folk/rock fans the very elusive eponymous l.p. by Davey and Morris from 1973 is now available in CD format. the original vinyl goes for lots of cash when it shows up on ebay

Cd produced by Big Pink in l.p. replica sleeve, I'm pretty sure it's a Japanese release due to the liner notes and that I ordered it from CD Japan. Assuming it's a needledrop but it sounds fantastic.

Apparently, Big Pink are a South Korean label - thanks for the tip - just ordered a copy via e-Bay!

I think you' get it cheaper via CD Japan website after looking at the eBay price £45.00?

I paid £17.95 including postage from S. Korea ... here’s hoping it avoids customs charges.

    Look again....

Mind you, on the basis of this i'm not rushing out for a copy. Sounds a bit soft rock to me, not much folk or acid here....

You're right to be cautious. It has a mixture of soft rock and folk rock and twelve bar blues. The most acid folk track is the closer Ishkamir which is great but not exceptional The first track (Town Crier) is decent folk prog rock. Its a case of a much vaunted rare record not living up to the hype (blame the contributors to the excellent Galactic Ramble book.)

Am very glad to have it in my collection though. it will probably appear on someones blogspot
