AMG says that if you add the previous album and the two following albums to the "trilogy" you will have six consecutive ***** albums.

It was topped a long time ago, but it's one of the finer "trilogies" out there, no doubt. :)

Yes, it can be topped these 2 ways:

    1. Beggars Banquet
    2. Let It Bleed
    3. Sticky Fingers

    Or

    1. Let It Bleed
    2. Sticky Fingers
    3. Exile On Main St.

Not a 'trilogy', but to me personally the four albums of the original Spirit (Spirit, The Family That Plays Together, Clear, Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus) are as impressive a run of consecutive albums as any.

Dylan had an incredible run in the 60s. I'll throw a few more strong 3 record runs into the conversation from some of the non-60s decades.

    Sinatra 54-56
    Swing Easy
    In the Wee Small Hours
    Songs for Swingin' Lovers

    Kraftwerk 75-78
    Autobahn
    Radio-Aktivitat
    Trans-Europe Express

    The Smiths 84-86
    The Smiths
    Meat is Murder
    The Queen is Dead

    Radiohead 95-00
    The Bends
    OK Computer
    Kid A

    Outkast 98-03
    Aquemini
    Stankonia
    Speakerbox/The Love Below

No. It can be equalled by a few acts though. Here's one.

Ramones - Ramones / Leave Home / Rocket to Russia
Elvis Costello - the first six records through Imperial Bedroom

There are countless great trilogies and beyond, and I'm sure every one will be listed before this is over. One is not necessarily better than any other, but it speaks to how much great music we've had.

Personally, I don't think it can be topped but Tom Waits came close with Swordfishtrombones, Rain Dogs & Frank's Wild Years.

I don't know if this beats it or not (how does one measure such things?), but this is one of the most brilliant trilogies in rock music history, all three were released in the very same year (1996) (!!); the third one was recorded for a total cost of $17. Their Satanic Majesties' Second Request is a double album. And if anyone decides to finally check them out, Methodrone (1995) and Give It Back! (1997) are just as good.
