Agree. And for the record he can sing just as good, if not better than Caruso ;)

Michael Nesmith's first three solo albums after leaving the Monkees featured a suite of songs on the second side of each album that were a trilogy of Americana.

so from the looks of the trilogies posted it looks like the answer to the original post is a resounding no!

It only took 36 posts before someone sees fit to hijack the thread.

What, pray-tell, is any different about that suggestion from the 33 that preceded it?

No, and he also had a nice third act trilogy with TOOM, L&T, and Modern Times.

I don't care what I "should" listen to

I find myself listening to and enjoying, for example, the essential Camel Trilogy 'Mirage', 'Snow Goose' and 'Moonmadness' much more than any Dylan album

Man what a great trilogy that would be, but I don't think it counts, since "Fulfillingness' First First Finale" came before "Songs In The Key Of Life." :(

    Agree to disagree.

Lateralus is mesmerizing and Jambi is quite possibly their biggest masterpiece. But cmon. Over Opiate and Undertow? Thats the root of it all.

I could even go with Nevermind - Incesticide - In Utero but Incesticide is a compilation and I'm not sure it counts.

    Agreed. To disagree.

I do like Undertow enough to think it coulda swapped out with Days on my list. I absolutely get the intensity and fire of the early works, and agree with their root status, but I prefer the musical development and layered complexity of the later works.

    I revere all their albums.

    Better than Bob Dylan.
