Car 54 - Original series coming to DVD early 2011

    If this is actually released I will definitely get both seasons.

    I have them all from the masters sent to Metro Channel in NY years ago but good for the fans of this show to get it. Personally, I'd prefer something I don't have, like The Bill Dana Show for instance, but that's just me.

    Really? My thought was: Geez, I'm amazed they have all the prints, nicely annotated and boxed.

    You half expect to see melted reels covered in cobwebs and discolored by cow urine when it comes to this stuff. It's nice when it was properly archived in the first place.

    I've gotten to see three episodes on a dvd that are "preview episodes" that I guess are going out to journalists and what not...I think they look really sharp and the show is really well written. I only remember this from when i was a little boy, so seeing them as an adult, I now get why there is a loyal fanbase, nothing else quite like this show and I like the way it captures NYC.

    sure, its a regular retail release which should be with any dvd retailer who wants to stock it.

    Thanks for the update! One question: does this release have English subtitles? These can be hit or miss with smaller labels due to the cost.
