Hello, first post here and I’m looking for a little advice.

I’ve recently changed my speakers from Monitor Audio Silver 6’s to Dali Opticon 6’s. I found the MA’s too harsh and bright. The Dali’s are much warmer and I’m much happier with them. At leat on my digital sources.

The issue I have now is that my Rega P3 with Elys 2 cartridge is a little too warm so I’m thinking of replacing the cartridge. I’d like to loose some of that warmth and hopefully introduce some more detail.

Can anyone give some advice and recommendations? The first thing that comes to my mind is the Exact cartridge, mainly for ease of installation. Would this provide the difference I’m looking for?

    Thanks in advance, Jason

The Exact is nice cartridge and easy replacement for the Elys. Also consider the Hana EH or Dynavector 10x5. I’ve owned all of them and the Hana is my favorite.

Rega Exact or Ortofon 2M Bronze or Black.

May need 2 mm spacers for the Ortofon carts but that is easy to install. The Ortofon will have a less warm color than the Rega.

Thanks, I’ll check out some reviews of the Hana, Dynavector and Ortofon.

I have Low Output Grado Platinum on my P3. It sounds great, there is hum at the Run out. So I wouldn't recommend this combo. I don't hear the hum while the music is playing. I can live with it, but this isn't my main system.

Of the cartridges mentioned so far which allow stylus only replacements?

The exact does not have a stylus replacement

I thought you were answering the above question. But you were just naming random cartridges I guess

Yes, upgrades. But its important to know for it I suppose, I would never buy it for that.

The Exact is good but the VM540ml is better...and cheaper.
