Recently I broke one of my own "How to buy on Discogs" rules and didn't ask the seller confirm the version of the lp they had listed was indeed a white label and of course, it wasn't a white label promo.

I had to file a claim and in the claim I explained that the seller sent me the wrong lp. He was also way off on the Mint description and I mentioned that. The seller replied saying I that he sent the lp listed and that I was lying and trying to defraud him. I offered to send him pictures, etc but he never responded to that.

Anyway, paypal ruled in my favour and today I got an email informing me of their decision and I noticed something that I had never seen before. The email contained this:

"We've completed our review and decided this case in your favor. Due to the unique circumstances of this case, PayPal is issuing you this refund at no cost to your seller. "

I might have received an email with this wording in the past but this is actually the first time that a seller, on paypal, has refused to accept they sent the wrong lp and indeed over all it's only the second time this has ever happened to me. The first was on ebay and ebay sorted that out.

Just curious if anyone has seen wording like this before.

Not exactly with no mention of "Due to the unique circumstances of this case, PayPal is issuing you this refund at no cost to your seller. "

I'd suggest logging into Paypal itself and check your account. If the cash is there it might be legit. That mentioned, I've never known of Paypal willing to eat someone else's mistake.

Yup money already refunded. Paypal account shows the case as closed. So it does all seem legit.

I have heard of them doing courtesy refunds in the past so maybe that's what they consider this to be for both of us.

EDIT: I didn't use any links in the email to login.
