I went with Skyfall for all kinds of reasons. But Casino Royale is a very, very good Bond flick. Tough choice, really.

Maybe there's another poll for best Bond, but I gotta say that , though I am an old fart, Craig is badass as Bond and brings a toughness that was really needed. I had no real issue with Brosnan, but as the stories (and effects) got sillier and sillier, we'll never really know how good he might have been.

Skyfall brought back the James Bond Theme, which was a deciding factor for me.

I love all three but Casino Royale barely beats Skyfall. I don't get the hate for Quantum Of Solace at all. To me it is like watching a 90 minute extended ending to Casino Royale.

Well, I think the ending to Casino Royale with Bond finally introducing himself the proper way and the signature theme finally kicking in was perfect. One of THE best 007 endings ever, if not the best.

Ooh Yeah! That's the only good thing in Skyfall, it ended that M's career. Looking forward to Ralph. Now all they have to do is, find a way to get rid of the new kiddie Q.

    Skyfall by far.

Casino Royale bored the crap out of me.

I think Casino Royale and Skyfall are just about tied, both excellent Bond movies and the best since the 1970s.

Quantum of Solace was ruined for me by quick-cut editing and the paint-by-numbers script, it seemed more like a Roger Moore vehicle than a modern Bond movie.

I would give both CR and SF a rating of ***1/2 out of ****
QOS would get ** out of ****

Skyfall felt like the producers were forcing too many tired Bond tropes and references into what was otherwise just a rather bland Bourne clone. And don't get me started on the head-scratching plot holes and the ludicrous end sequence at the Bond estate. Or the fact that Bond basically failed in every aspect of his mission?!

Casino Royale, on the other hand, actually took the Bond franchise in a smart, modern and nail-biting new direction. And that's just what the series needed.

Judi Dench is my favorite M but as the 'Bond girl' in Skyfall? Argggh!!!, just thinking about it, gives me the creeps.

Watched it again a few weeks ago and it occured to me that this is just the most boring (not the worst) Bond film I've ever seen since started watching them in 1963. I don't rate Casino Royale that highly either but atleast it looked and felt like a Bond film.

Casino Royale, no doubt, but if I was forced to pick between Skyfall and Quantum of Solace, I'd pick Skyfall any day.

Quantum of Solace just plain sucked. It was way too confusing. There were times I didn't understand what was going on in that movie. Instead, I followed the action. At those points, obviously nobody cared about the plot, including the writers and the director. Why should I?

I don't get the Quantum ending. If someone throws me a can of motor oil and then strands me in a desert am I suppose to carry it for miles and then drink it? That made no sense.

The whole Quantom movie was just so rushed...... I think they could have slowed it down a little and added some more storyline...

It could have been worse. I could have been Moonraker.

Back on topic: Casino Royale is just a great movie. It was a triple play in that the franchise, Donald Craig and the producers were all under attack while the movie was being made. Together they pulled it off and in the process, achieved greatness. It's an immensely satisfying flick, not just as a James Bond film, but as a movie, from beginning to end.

Brosnan: I've enjoyed him out of the Bond Series...but, I found nothing wrong with him playing Bond...he has class like Connery.

Would like to see a uncut QOS.
Why no uncut Bond films per se?

Agree, but the tidal wave surfing, invisible car, and the ending of Die Another Day were about as bad as it gets and harkened back to the last few Moore movies that were unbearable for me. Shame because Halle Berry and Rosamund Pike were two of the best Bond girls ever!

Of the three QoS is probably my favorite. I would pick Casino Royale as my second and then Skyfall. Casino Royale has many good parts but I don't know, there is just something about it that makes me not want to watch it.

Skyfall is just bad. It too has some good parts but is mostly head scratching. Why do they lay a false trail showing them going to the estate when they end up going there anyway? Also how deep was that lake and how come the tunnel under it wasn't constantly leaking water?

I did like the new Q and his insistence that they don't do gadgets anymore. I think the only problem with Ralph is that he seems to much in his prime to be behind a desk. I hope they don't have M tagging along on cases now. I think that Ralph Fiennes would make a better Bond than an M. That being said, I think he could be a good M. I don't know if it's because it's who was M in the movies when I was a kid or what, but when I read the books I always pictured somebody like Bernard Lee when I imagined M.
