I have a question too. Why not ask the question?

Adapter to play cds through a cassette player or to play a cassette through an 8-Track deck?

My car's cassette player is messed up, it runs slow (like it will make Joni Mitchell sound like Barry White), so the question is will the adapter still work? It seems like it might since I assume it doesn't actually spin tape?

correct no tape involved, the signal passes from your portable player through the cord - through head in cassette shell to head in your car stereo deck.

    Yes it will work.

But a warning: some adapters can be really noisy - mechanically - with the inner plastic rollers making all sorts of squeaks and howls. Some lubricant helps, but make sure you can return immediately if it doesn't work quietly. I went through a couple before I bought a Koss-branded unit which is very quiet - and can't be heard over background noise.

As far as signal transfer quality goes the Koss is excellent. I mostly use an iPod Touch with it.

I have a Sony, but any name brand should do fine...and I'll bet the one walmart has will work as well...
