Caught CSI's Season Finale yesterday. Is a CSI: NYC in the works?

I'm a big fan of the show and yesterday I caught the Season Finale for CSI: Miami (the one with the copycat murders in Miami and NYC, where most of the action actually happens in NYC), and it was very good .

I liked the darker edge of the NYC part, specially in contrast (intentional, of course) with sunny Miami- even funnier how they made it seem as though the Miami characters were shot in full color and flesh tones and the NYC characters in almost blue-and-black tones, .. even within the same scene .

So was this just a 'cameo' of sorts by the NYC team or is there a CSI: NYC in the works? This could be good.

 

There is just such a series scheduled for fall, I believe. An obvious hint, since CSI: MIAMI began as a cameo in one of the original CSI eps....

There was one more new episode of CSI:M from this past season; the CSI:NY intro was the next-to-last one, not the season finale.
