Just got my hands on one of those CD Demagnetizers that I saw in a number of rooms at CES, because I couldn't stand it, I had to know. All I can tell you is don't spend the $$ You can buy a lot of records, CD's or even beer for what this thing costs and I tried it on about 10 CD's. After about an hour of hearing nothing, I dragged my wife in the room and did the same test for her. Then I had a buddy come over and made him listen to about 8 cuts on different CD's. Keep in mind when I played with it, I thought "I can't hear a damn thing", but I didn't say anything to either of them to tarnish the test. Both shook their heads and said that they couldn't hear a thing. My wife made a good point, she said that perhaps she could hear a tiny touch more with the treated CD, but she said "maybe Im just listening harder the 2nd time" And this is someone who can hear a power cord swap or cable swap in a heartbeat. So, I'm sure there will be those of you that will argue with me till the cows come home, so if you can hear it, you have better ears than I do. For those of you contemplating buying one of these things, make sure you can return it.... I've listened to a lot of tweeks, but this one was not working for me at all... Trying to save you guys (and girls) some dough! Happy listening!
