Anybody know if B&W is updating the Nautilus line of speakers? As a Matrix 804 owner, I've thought about upgrading to the Nautilus 804 but those speakers are getting a bit long in the tooth. I keep waiting for a new model.

From the video side, how about Panasonic announcing a 4k Blu-ray player (for 4k Blu-rays , none of which exist yet). Also, the total absence of plasma TVs. They're dead now, no models in production. (Don't tell my Kuros.)

I wish it were otherwise, but I think it would be a long time before I got excited about 4k Blu-ray. I'm thinking it's at least 5 years before there's an affordable 4k panel that clearly beats the Kuro in all areas. Aside from LG the big players seem to be backing away from OLED. Dark days when a defunct 6 or 7-year-old TV line is still at the top.

Very nice. But the price increase to GBP 3k - well, not so much.

Would love to hear anyone's thoughts if they made it to the Rogue Audio suite. According to Rogue's site, they're going to have the new RP-5 preamp and Stereo 100 amp paired w/ Joseph Audio Pulsars.

Awesome! I like the display for the Manley gear all hanging with some behind picture frames. Made me think of the ELP "Pictures at an Exhibition" album cover.

What was a room or gear or sound that you liked best?

Thanks! I do too. I liked Acoustic Zen, Usher Audio, Accuphase, Pass Labs, and Tannoy.

Dave, thank you for sharing all of the photos, very nice!

It's clear that no one set-up at CES talked to any of our wives before designing their latest speakers, as they just keep getting bigger and BIGGER each year! Good luck selling those expensive tree trunks is all I can say!

You're welcome. :) Again, that's how we (the LVAC) roll, man...

Haha, I noticed that too. But, there were plenty of smaller speakers too...

Some outfit promising a new way to deliver 0s and 1s? Somebody better tell Neil Young...but I could be more excited ultimately.

On the other hand, there's the BMR driver that's been used with some success but still little known about in wider circles. Cambridge Audio and Tectonic Elements are two companies developing this technology.

There's a good piece below that describes this clever technology and it's one that's available to audio enthusiasts even with a more modest budget. The Cambridge Aero 2 is it now for under £500 for instance and reviews are very positive.

I'll guess Apple and Meridian partner for MQA streaming and downloads through iTunes ...

And didn't Neil Young make a splashy visit to Meridian sometime in the Pono development ?

Dude, It would be one of my wildest dreams if Apple licensed the Meridian Interface and MQA. Right now TIDAL + MDMS is where it's at.

That's unfortunate. Always liked Energy's speakers. Klipsch, not so much (although they made good cheap subs).
