"In This Country" is technically a Robin Zander solo, and not a Cheap Trick song, so I can see why it would be omitted.

Will these Blu Spec 2 CDs play on any CD player and car CD player? Can anyone comment how Blu Spec 2 might sound compared to a regular CD version?

For my CT 97 deluxe, I used the Steve Albini single, the single mix for Say Goodbye, some demos, and the Pepsi spots.
For Special One, there's That 70's Song, the Japanese sung Special One, and demos from the 97 demo sessions

From the Wikipedia entry on Blu Spec CD Blu-spec CD - Wikipedia

A Blu-spec CD can be played on all CD players and does not require a blue laser to be read.[4] The same holds true for Blu-spec CD2 discs.

Having the expanded reissues for the albums up to ASU and the SACT box, I have all the extras from CT 77 to DP that are on the 2017 editions, except for the 'oh candy' demo and 5 live tracks (2 off HT and 3 off 'At Budokan'). So I'm in no hurry to get vol 1 of the epic archives or any of the blu spec reissues up to DP, the Vic Anisini mastering on these are great as they are.

From ASU onwards, I'm hoping for cds for epic archives vol 1 and 2 as i'll need most of those tracks

Interesting but I'm waiting for Archive 2 on vinyl.

Anyone have thoughts on "Auld Lang Syne: La Forum 1979 (Vinyl)" or "On Top of the World (Vinyl)" releases?

I just received the Standing On The Edge Blu Spec 2 CD from CD Japan and it has two stickers on the front and each one has what looks likes that Copy Control symbol? It's those two small arrows that bend to form a square.

Could these be another symbol? I thought Sony got rid of that practice and some Copy Control discs won't play on every player or DVD player.

Has anyone else received these Cheap Trick Blu Spec 2 CDs yet?

Their label, Red Ant, went out of business about 30 seconds after the record came out, and so all inventory went to surplus and there was basically no promotional push. So cheap copies were plentiful.

Mine are on the way but a post on Imwan states "---these discs sound fantastic! Very crisp, clean, and detailed (and not too loud). The early albums are improved from the nearly 20-year-old remasters, and the '80s albums sound much better than whatever was sourced for the Complete Epic Albums Collection."

Man, this really has my expectations set high. And I enjoyed the Epic Collection.

Thanks for the info. I never could get my hands on that Epic Conplete Albums Collection, but how does that 2013 Standing On The Edge remaster sound? I think Vic A. remastered this set and he usually does good work.

I only have the 2003 Sony/Epic Japan CD and that is ok, but sounds very bright and glassy. I'm hoping the Blu Spec 2 I just bought sounds better.

I'll be curious which CD you think sounds better - the Standing On The Edge 2013 CD or this new Blue Spec 2 CD?

I really want these and being the nut I am, I want them all...
but... so much money to spend and I have multiple copies of each CD and there's only a few of the bonus tracks that I don't already have...
I'm hoping more on the side of me not having a moment of weakness and ordering them all...
I really wish we had some news on whether or not they are going to release the other 2 Archive sets on CD...

Does anyone know what the thought process was in only releasing Vol. 1? Do they think that staggering the releases will help each one to sell a bit better? Or do they consider this a testing of the waters?

It seems like it would have made sense to release all 3, and maybe do a limited edition 3-CD set with an extra goodie or two, for us diehards who would be willing to spend a little extra for something of that nature.

I say try maybe 3 to see what you think. Being under $20.00 a piece helps. I'll let you know how I like mine. ;)

Hey brother, I see you are in Gainesville. Be safe, OK?

Here in Tampa I am going to rock until the power drops (or I run out of beer). ;)

I still have 2 cases left, and a carton of cigs.
Listening to Bash and Pop deluxe re-issue of Friday Night.
Some Cheap Trick later, I promise!
    Take care, as well.
