This brilliant and innovative album, Chicago V was released 46 years ago, July 10, 1972. It might be their best album...I think it is.
I don't feel that these albums have gotten the re-issue treatment they deserve; the covers don't feature the original textural quality and the vinyl pressings themselves are, at best, inconsistent. What makes this more frustrating is that the actual music sounds quite good
Agree. It's from later, the VI LP. The much longer hair gives it away. Plus, Lamm looks much different than in the early LP pics.
Yeh, those Pinterest photos are often mis labeled. Now that I look at it again, it looks like it is from Caribou ranch.
"Fun hang with Danny Seraphine after my show at the Saban in Beverly Hills Saturday night..." Peter Cetera
This live album is amazing. Btw, Cetera also sang 'Questions 67 & 68' in Japanese! I still don't have Carnegie Hall in my collection (mainly because the Rhino CD set is hard to get and expensive). Well, since we know it's possible that the horns can sound better, Steven Wilson should remix this!!
I know the unreleased rarities from Carnegie Hall came out in 2005 or around then. This is one of my favorite tracks. Love how Lamm sings his ass off. Outstanding bass playing as well as guitar and drums. Horns still sound a little off.
Brazilian master percussionist Laudir de Oliveira is seen here performing with his new bandmates during a Chicago's performance in Waco, Tx. 1974. He joined Chicago in 1974 after playing as a session artist since the late 60's and as a member of the group Sergio Mendes Brasil '77.
