I've had it since day-of-release (2002?) and decided to play it in full 5.1 this afternoon and you know what? It's stellar. Really outstanding. What a great album, too.

I missed these when they were new. I'd love to find this and Chicago V for a decent price.

at the top of my want list. Chicago V DVD-A sounds better every time I listen to it.

That's right. I played my DVD-Audio disc of CHICAGO V the other day, too, and it's really solid. The DVD-Audio disc of that album is probably my favorite version of it.

  9. I have had both Chicago DVD-As about 5 years and don't think I have played either more than a couple of times. I do think II is excellent and I need to get it and put it to use. Warner did a great job overall with DVD-A, think I have 30 or so.

Troy (his real name) is really "one of us," without ever having the time to come by here. Uses ONLY Priority boxes, lots of bubble wrap, and everything is always NM

Weird=I got mine only 2 years ago, still IN print...$32.50. :agree:

You guys don't think the drums are over the top? Listen to "Twenty-Five Or Sex 'Til Four".

When that second drum set comes in, yikes, hold the drum pedal!

This is my favorite Chicago album. Makes me wish I had a DVD-A player.

Since I listen to most of my music on the go, I'm glad I was able to rip the stereo content and convert it to a regular CD.

Best version available in the digital rhelm. I still think the quad version sounds less muddy, and a better overall sound...

I have that one, it sounds like the US CD, the DVD Audio, while a remix fixes the problems with that crappy recording IMO.

It would be nice if Rhino could give us "quadio" DVD-As of their first 10 albums that were released in quad (excepting 'C IV' which was not released in quad but appeared in catalogs and price guides as a quad release)

After hearing the quad mix of the first album "Chicago Transit Authority" on Rhino Handmade DVD-A "Quadio", the other eight Chicago quad albums (originally released in the 70's) are on the top of my 'want' list.

Although I like the sound of the DVD-A of both "Chicago II" and "Chicago V", I am more excited to hear the original 70's quad mixes.

Just give us that big box set and get it over with.

They could do 8,000 units limited or whatever. I think they would sell that worldwide over 4 years easy, so long as price was not too sky high.

They stuff is already mixed, so cost is not such a problem. Cost of doing artwork has also fallen. Costs of pressing discs is also lower than ever.

The surround mixes are great but the mastering is terrible on both chicago dvd audio discs. The dts disc of cta has much better mastering imo.

What exactly is terrible about the mastering of the DVD-As? I do not hear anything wrong with them.
