Chicago II & V on DVD-A???

Hey guys n'gals,
I was just over at Chicagotheband.com checking out the last couple of months of posts. Hadn't been there in a while since the early batch of Chicago Rhino remaster debacle.

Anyway- there is a thread there about Chacago II, and even V having a 5.1 mix I believe on DVD-A. I hadn't even heard that from the rumour mill. Release is to be 3/10/03.

The daily update on the ICE site yesterday listed these as a February 25 release. Other Rhino DVD-As set for that day:

Cars -- The Cars
Chicago -- II and V
Emmylou Harris -- Producer’s Cut
Heart -- Live
Mötley Crüe -- Greatest Hits

Since the first batch of Chicago albums were issued in Quad, makes sense. Haven't seen it offered on domestic sites yet, though that shouldn't be long in coming.

I would love to hear V on DVD-A. With all the sonic problems that II has I'm not sure it would be worthwhile. I'll buy V if it really shows up.

 

Chicago VII has a great quad mix. I hope they do that one, as it is one of my favorite Chicago LPs.

 

amen! hooray! they need to put the first 7 chicagos on DVD-A (sans Carnegie Hall). I'll be in line! oooh, and THE CARS! that would be a great surround mix! but I thought the Heart title coming was supposed to be Dreamboat Annie?

 

I think Dreamboat Annie is an EMI title.
