I'm afraid to ask given what we seen of the series so far, but has anyone tried these out? I adore XI and was hoping for an improvement over the original CD.

    Sure sounds like it.

Ed Bishop Incredibly, I'm still here

I wouldn't even dare(besides, GoldenBoy is the designated Forum Guinea Pig). Translation: keep the old Columbia and Chicago label discs.

I bought X. I was very disappointed. Sounds highly compressed without any life to it.

The best-sounding X tracks are on the Terry Kath compilation. How they got such a great sound on that CD is still a mystery.

Ugh. This is maddening. Not unexpected, but maddening nonetheless. I'll be keeping my Columbia XI unless someone tells me the 2 bonus tracks are unmissable.

Interesting ... the CTA and Chicago II tracks on the Kath compilation sound pretty bad to me--real strange and obnoxious midrange EQ. Compressed, too.

Let's hear about the "BONUS" tracks on X & XI, PLEASE!

I don't like the scary word "REHEARSAL" because that with Chicago that usually means an edit of a demo!
