Christie's New Laser Projector - An end to dark 3D films?

    Might be just that. They sure make good projectors after their first buggy models. They improved and learned quickly.

    Our local drive-in is going Barco; can't wait to see what it looks like this summer. They'll be showing all-2D fare, however...

    Couldn't get through the half-hour line to see the Christie at NAB in Vegas last week. One hopes it's good -- it's certainly not cheap (reportedly north of $200K).

    Ah, a Governor Christie reference. No, this is Christie Digital of California. They actually do all their R&D up in Ontario, Canada. They've been one of the biggest film projector companies around in the last 20 years; they switched to digital theatrical projectors about 10 years ago and quickly became the biggest company there as well (between them, Barco, and Sony).

    Does Christie Digital make any "cheap" products? Although their products are good, it seems everything they put out costs a fortune....
