If you have Buzzr (a station owned by Fremantle with reruns of many of Fremantle's shows), they're showing classic Password. It comes on twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They are, of course, starting with the first episode of the primetime series. Original commercials are intact.

And BTW, the videotape quality is good old 30fps 2'' videotape. Smooth and fluid. None of the choppiness like on the BCI DVD.

Well I was just watching an old Password Plus on Buzzr, but they have edited out the old commercials and replaced them with new contemporary spots.

    But an amazing coincidence happened.

One of the passwords was "bench." This originally aired back in the 70s or early 80s, so one of the clues for "bench" was, "Johnny." As in the famous baseball catcher "Johnny Bench."

So they get to the point for a commercial break, and the modern day, contemporary commercial is none other than an elderly Johnny Bench as a pitchman for Blue Emu lotion.

I don't imagine that this was a planned match up by the advertiser, just a coincidence, unless someone know different.

Wonder if they'll get around to the Carol Burnett Twit-Tw-at episode.
