    Now listening to "Berg - Violin Concerto/Bartok - Rhapsodies Nos. 1 & 2" from the "Leonard Bernstein Edition - Concertos & Orchestral Works" box set on Sony.

    With the New York Philharmonic featuring Isaac Stern.

    Spent the afternoon at the Philharmonie and saw/heard a pretty nice concert. The pieces were:
    César Franck - Morceau symphonique (from "Redemption")
    Elgar - Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85
    Beethoven - Symphony No. 5
    Conductor was Stanley Dodds. I went with my mother and my brother and his wife. We enjoyed it a lot, which didn't surprise me, since the only piece I didn't know before was the one by Franck. As familiar as I am with the Beethoven symphony, I don't think I ever saw it performed live. It just makes such a difference.

    The best performance of these works may be the version by AAM with Hogwood. I also have the following version on EMI.

    Have you tried Google Translate? Google Translate does a lousy job translating most Asian languages into western language but may do a better job translating Italian to French ...
