That's what I mean...lots of potential for confusion with the various releases. But it sounds like the Tureck mono WTC is probably solid no matter which package I go for. Sorry if my question wasn't clear.

Sorry to hear that. He was not one of my favourite pianists, but I still have a few of his CDs. Now listening to: Beethoven: Piano Sonatas 8, Op.13; 14, Op.27/2 - Ivan Moravec - Supraphon
Yesterday's recital: Gerard Souzay: Recital - Ancient Airs of Italy and Spain; Leider by Liszt. Claves, 2004 [recorded in 1957 and 1958] There is very little information on the Claves insert, just the titles. The Leider by Liszt came out on a 10" LP. That company disappeared. It won a Grand Prix du Disque in 1959. This disc arrived today. The playing is a volatile as I recall from yesteryear, but the sound is not as good--a little nasal and brittle. Both Rubinstein's and Yundi Li's SACDs have far better sound.
Now playing CD15 - Brahms Cello Sonatas and Bruch Kol Nidrei from the following box for a first listen ...
On the turntable…an LP from my dad's collection. The vinyl on some of these Capitol LPs is whisper quiet…
On the turntable...Mennin Symphony #7, CSO/Martinon. I got my copy from a library, and I have to say that this performance is simply electric. Mennin's musical language is thoroughly modern, with dissonant counterpoint and a firm grasp of structure, yet it has a romantic lyricism to it that is undeniable. He is probably not in most people's lists of their top 20th century composers, but he is in mine...what a talent.
