A gift to myself. It's explosive dynamically, falls into the black hole for note/voice decay and has a tremendous grip on the bass...extended and articluate. This table is not cold nor analytical in any sense of the word. The lower magnetic drive bearing is traditional and the platter/drive shaft of the record platter is a sealed ceramic magnetic bearing. I'll share more impressions after I have had it a bit. Happy Holidays !

Here's a gallery of the setup process from start to finish (29 pics) Full rez takes two clicks on the pic.

    Here's a couple highlights:

Lower Stainless steel sub platter (heavy)

The belt is now flat and wider versus the prototype's traditional thick silicon spaghetti belt. The dots are the attracting magnet's on the drive platter.

Very stunning looking table, and I'm fascinated by some its design features. So apparently the magnetic force provided by the dots spins the top platter. What is the material makeup and physical interface between the top structure which supports the platter and the bottom one which has the motor and sub-platter. I expect the Clearaudio designers went to great extent to make that interface as vibration resistant as possible. Please give us some low-down on how it sounds compared to whatever you've owned before. Congratulations and enjoy!

The top half of the magnetic platter drive is suspended by the CMB bearing shaft bottom above the lower magnetic drive platter just close enough so that there is magnetic attraction between the two and far enough away so that they are not making any physical contact. The record platter is completely isolated from mechanical motor/belt vibration. You can slide a piece of paper in between the platters while it's playing. The gap between the two is a wee bit over 1/8" guesstimate.

That is a sweet turntable.I have the Clearaudio performance and wonder how would the same record sound on both tables? I did read the Clearaudio Innovation should have less snap crackle pop but still don't fully understand how?
