    NIGEL GOODALL: Cliff At Christmas

Maybe some useless info, but just came across this today, a bit of interesting reading.
He doesn't say why it wasn't used as the sleeve notes though.

An interesting read. This may not be ny favourite Cliff album, but it´s always interesting to hear the background facts about the inception of the album, and some of Cliff\s thoughts. Like his comments about covers - I agree with him wholeheartedly.

Now that doesn't sound a lot to me - when you consider 'Always Guaranteed' sold in excess of 300,000, and 'Private Collection' over 1,200,000, but I suppose the market has collapsed considerably.

Yes. Many have claimed that Cliff´s fans don´t have the ability to downlaod songs. So there!

The market for physical media is not what it used to be. Rememeber - Cliff hasn´t had a hit single since 2009. So this is uplifting. (Yes, I know this is an album, but it´s still good news.)

There is a rumour that there will be a Christmas 'single' this year, probably quite soon!

In full agreement! I still have no physical copy of the last single IT'S BETTER TO DREAM and I'm still not happy about it!

I bought the promo CD single. Too bad - the album version is much better. IMO.

I hope it´s just a rumour... Or that the single in question is a "normal" Cliff track without any Christmas connotations. And we all know how likely that is... :shake:

It was mentioned on the 'MoveIt' digest. I'm thinking it's getting a bit late for hearing about a release now though.

It has been going years. There's probably one, maybe two emails a day. I don't think I've ever sent in any submissions though. Can pick up interesting snippets though.

They´re still available on eBay, and they´re not all that expensive. Give yourself a copy for Christmas! :righton:

    That's right.
I would like to have a copy, but when I have seen them they go for silly money.

I've just been giving it a play also.
It does give me an opportunity to listen to Cliff songs that I would never normally play.
Only on cd 1, great to hear "Clear Blue Skies" again. Love that song.

(My playing cd time used to be in my car, where for 20 years, until last January when I semi - retired, it was a daily 50 minute journey. My Christmas temporary job (no, not playing Santa!) is a cycle ride away, so I have to make time for my music listening at home.)

Want to trade for the CD version of the "POWER TO ALL OUR FRIENDS" compilation?

He, he... Can´t remember whether it was Chris or you who had that one in their collection. I tend to think it was Chris.

And yes, I was joking. That one´s worth a lot of money.
