I know this won't be to everyone's taste, but there are a few Cliff fans on here.

I started in 1976 as this was when Cliff had a bit of a renaissance after years of Eurovision/Saturday night variety TV shows misery.:)

I've only chosen the singles that made the UK chart, though the final option lets you choose something else.

Pick as many as you like.

That was a really good run of Cliff singles, only broken by a few boring ones. What if Cliff had songs like these today? Imagine that...

I've been waiting for this one:

    Devil Woman
    Carrie
    Dreamin'
    We Don't Talk Anymore
    Suddenly
    A Little In Love
    Daddy's Home

    Radio 1 wouldn't play them.:shake:

It hurt to leave off Please Remember Me, but it didn't scrape the top 50...

That really is a good run...the only stuff I like of his. Is their a comp that basically just highlights this period? Would love something like that on physical media.

No, you´re right, of course. How sad.

I can imagine - that´s one of the really good ones. I think you made a great selection. It would have made a spectacular compilation, methinks.

The "PRIVATE COLLECTION" covers most of this period, but you´d lose the first six - or seven on CD - tracks.

Private Collection from 1988 is the closest. Doesn't feature them all, but a fair few are there. Nice sounding CD too.

I should add the subtitle of Private Collection is 1979-1988. This gives you some idea of what you're getting.:D

I see...it would be perfect if it wasn't missing "Devil Woman". That will drive me nuts.

I have kept myself under control on this and only chosen 5. I've stayed with solo singles - although the Phil Everly duet may have made it... but in place of what?
    Chosen:
    Hey Mr Dream Maker
    We don't talk anymore
    Carrie

There'll have been more comprehensive comps since then that do include Devil Woman... @Jarleboy will know better than me.

I deduce from this that you're not keen on Where do we go from here - as it's the only one without a vote so far!

Can we have a second poll at the end of the lengthy discussion thread for singles from 1983 onwards? :)

It's OK, but I had to leave something out. I don't think it's as strong as some of the others.

Yes, please, could we, dearest Bobby? I think could raise more interest in Cliff, and that´s what I want. Let people see there is more to him than "CONGRATULATIONS" and "DEVIL WOMAN"!

I chose 13 of the singles. (And felt like a traitor... Old Cliff fans never die, they just feel guilty.)

I think this song works best in its original placing on the "NOW YOU SEE ME, NOW YOU DON´T" album. It comes after "THIEF IN THE NIGHT", and works as a perfect "antidote" for the darkness and heaviness of that song. The combination of both is great - "WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE" on its own is OK, but a bit too lightweight.
