    From Steve on Facebook...

" One of the greatest soundtracks of all time. Just wait until you hear it on SACD.... Since it was leaked already, no sense denying I'm working on it with Stephen Marsh. Amazing sound."

I think I remember all of 5 notes from this soundtrack... but what memorable notes they are. Looking forward to it!

I remember the little five note thing, but nothing else (music wise) about the movie. I'm glad this is coming to SACD and not vinyl only. Looking forward to it.

One of my favorite films of all time and the 30th anniversary Ultimate Edition box is one of my favorite Blu-rays.

Great, great film, and iconic little musical phrase, but - at the risk of being flamed here - does this soundtrack really merit SH and SM's talent and resources when so many other great albums would benefit from the AF/SACD touch?

edit: apologies if this is considered a threadcap, so treat accordingly.

Great news. I have the Classic DVD-A remaster.
Someone said here that it had the worst sounding tuba ever!
I'm hoping Steve's will be better.
It is, indeed, a fantastic soundtrack.

This is great news! I hope Audio Fidelity reissues more soundtracks. They are also issuing the soundtrack to the controversial 1980 film, Cruising, starring Al Pacino, which has never been issued on CD.

Kudos to Audio Fidelity for these releases.

The Classic DVD-A was stereo only.

I know that not everyone enjoys soundtracks, but this is considered a classic film score. I'm thrilled that it's coming to SACD.

Really? Where was that announced? I did see this listing for an Audio Fidelity issue of "Eddie & The Cruisers", but that's a different movie entirely.

I don't remember a thing about the music for "Cruisin'", but I like the movie and wish it would come to blu-ray.

I received an email as I subscribe to their emails. In my Gmail, it ended up in my "Promotions" folder so I didn't notice it at first.

I'm really impressed that they are releasing it. I never exepcted it.

I think it was announced only via subscriber e-mail so far.

John Williams needs to be heard in hi-res. I will order the SACD.
Coincidently I watched the movie again on Sunday. It's one of those movie's where the older it gets, the crazier it gets.

Speaking of this movie at the end when the FLT 19 pilots show up. I thought in the last ten years they thought they found the planes and the first thing I thought was it will make the movie outdated instantly. But it turned out it wasn't the planes after all. Still missing since 1945 along with the PBY aircraft sent to search for them. I have the DVD-A as well but love John Williams scores. Maybe he can do Jurrasic Park and Raiders again but on SACD this time.

The Aliens offloaded the planes in the Gobi desert prior to offloading the pilots, remember the French government scientist guy running around like a maniac. I didn't get why he was in charge of UFO related FBI activities in the USA. Crazy stuff. :D

Love this score. I still have the originally released 1977 gatefold record with that bonus 7" single as well as the "remastered" and expanded CD reissue from about a decade ago. This will be a day one buy for me.
