DCC Archive Computer audio rookie question

    Well, I would say just for "listening pleasure" MP3s encoded at or near 320kbps are "close enough" to the original. I encode my remix projects at 256kbps using the Lame MP3 codec in analog in real-time and I myself can't tell the difference between that and the original WAV files. I DO notice a loss in quality though if I encode at 224kbps or lower. The MP3 starts to have that shaky/waterey sound to it.

    MP3s encoded at 128 kbps, which are usually what is found on the Internet, are unlistenable to my ears.

    Grant Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me!

    The main problem about the mp3s you download on the internet are made with questionalbe encoders and you don't know what the files have been put through.
