I went to see Stone Sour and Avenged Sevenfold opening for Disturbed a few years back. They both put on amazing shows. Corey Taylor can really control an audience in my opinion

I saw that bill, though I was there for the Pumpkins. I'm not even sure I'd heard of Garbage.

All I remember about their performance is that Shirley wore a flesh-colored top that made me think she was topless!

22 years later, I'm a much much much bigger Garbage fan than I am for the Pumpkins!

My wife and I saw Iris DeMent at the Park West in Chicago, and she and her band were crowded onto the front of the stage, which was otherwise covered with some other bands equipment underneath big black cloths.

It turns out Prince had rented the whole place for one of his late night, last minute announcement shows. About three-quarters of the way through Iris's set, all these bodyguard type started showing up standing in the aisles, and as we left there was a whole other crowd waiting outside to get into Prince's show.

The Zombies will be opening for Uriah Heep in Bergen tonight. I'll probably leave before The Heep hit the stage, as I don't like them and find the combination of acts bizarre.

I saw ZPZ opening for Dream Theater several years back. I had seen ZPZ before and since, but never heard a note of DT. Talking with some fans before their set, they were super excited for me to hear DT for the first time. I lasted maybe 4 songs before I couldn't take it anymore. Maybe it was the venue (an oversized cube perhaps better for basketball), but the relentless prog-metal that assaulted my ears was too much. Sorry DT fans, not my cup of beer.

I went to an ELP concert in the mid-80s (Emerson, Lake & Powell) only because I wanted to see Yngwie Malmsteen open.

Which seems odd to me now, as I am a huge ELP fan and never listen to Yngwie any more.

I've been familiar with Dream Theater since I heard "Pull Me Under" on the radio back in 1992. Prog-metal is exactly what they are.
