I just saw this one in Orson Welles "The Trial." Anyone know what that amp is?
Great movie. Not sure about the amp.
Don't forget the stereo system in Clockwork Orange...
complete with a Transcriptors turntable and a microcassette player...
Don't mess with this guy...
Jason Statham's stereo in The Mechanic was pretty sweet.
HBO series Sharp Objects with Amy Adams. Awesome and creepy series with great music. The ~$112,0000 sound system already has its own thread.
Sharp Objects Stereo System
The system in Jack's place in As Good as it Gets looks like it's pretty good. McIntosh Electronics, but I've never quite decided on the Speakers.
Not real, but fun anyway.
Mcintosh gear used in Departed
I hear Transcriptors aren't that great, but BOY, DO I WANT ONE!
Oh, it was filmed in Croatia, so that might explain unfamiliar gear. I thought it might have been a giant Leak or something.
Wow, some film director loves vinyl, really lavished some time on that table!
In "How To Murder Your Wife", a hilarious movie from 1965, I noticed the components in Lemmon's apartment (behind Terry Thomas here). Only in the scene a few times, they look like a Scott tuner and amplifier, but could also be Fisher. I saw no speakers anywhere though.
I think this is the one!
Sherlock and McIntosh
I'm quite certain Jason Statham's character in that film could have easily killed someone with that turntable platter.
There a pair of McIntosh in the background in one of the scenes in the ad for Ocean’s 8
Can't find a good pic, and I have no idea if any of it was based in fact, but Jesse Pinkman's stereo in Breaking Bad was pretty cool.
The dad in the movie "Risky Business" had a nice stereo.
Gene Hackman has an audiophile-looking tube amp/turntable/reel-to-reel setup in The Conversation.
Absolutely drop-dead beautiful turntables. The Oracles kind of picked up the Transciptors design and kept it alive for awhile.
Hi Fi Insider: How equipment was Placed in "The Departed" movie
In the original "Arthur" movie the main character has stereo component system that includes a Nakamichi 580 cassette desk in his bathroom.
