No Long, Long While? It's a good track. Some sources also have If You Let Me from Metamorphosis as being recorded at the Aftermath sessions.

It's a decent track, but it feels like the last gasp of their sound of a few months earlier. More like either version of "Out Of Our Heads."

I would say if you are going to make Aftermath a double lp all of the tracks from the sessions should be included.

I included the tracks that make it work for me. You don't need to listen to mine. ;)

Some sources list Looking Tired as come from the Out Of Our Heads sessions.

yes. I've seen that, and it seems possible. Has anyone confirmed this one way or the other? Of course, these sessions were separated by mere months, and on several of the later songs there's no dramatic evolution of performance or production style.

In fact, it looks likely that this is so...but that they may have intended to include it on the rumored "Could You Walk On the Water" LP, if that album was ever a serious consideration (and not just a press hype).

Aftermath always seemed too long for me with too much filler. I’d suggest shortening the Album by a couple of tracks and adding in the singles missed in the uk edition would be a better idea than extending it.

Yes you could make Aftermath a double album.

    Q. Would it have changed it's impact?
    A. Yes just by fact of the above but exactly how is hard to say without guesswork.
The band would have got kudos for one of the earliest rock 'new' double studio albums for one but perhaps the material got a bit thin over 20 tracks and it would not be looked on at the same level as Blonde On Blonde or Exile is.

I would use strong openers for all four sides; Mother's Little Helper, Paint It Black, 19th Nervous Breakdown & Out Of Time.

Side closers; What To Do, Ride On Baby, Sittin' On A Fence & Goin' Home.

Apologies i have made no full list, just juggling baby sitting at present.

A matter of taste, I know Steve our host & @KeninDC prefer Aftermath soundwise in it's original UK Stereo mix.
I enjoy both UK mixes myself!

I really have to wonder about Mick & Keith's input into the song selection?
I would say pretty minimal looking at what was released and the much stretched out drug bust scenario!

Aside from Brian's harp i enjoy Mick doing his Otis meets Wilson soul pleading schtick in early 66' on a pop record!

Aftermath is already several tracks too long.

I didn't have a functioning printer back in 2015, but I recently made my playlist "official" with a CDR. I "colorized" your artwork (which is great, like all of the LP sleeves that you put together) and I found a copy of the uncropped cover photo on the Internet for the back of the insert. It was tilted a few degrees counter-clockwise on the album cover... I guess that Keith really liked that white polka dot shirt.

I adapted the back panel from the US artwork, but I slapped-on the DECCA logo in the upper left-hand corner for good measure.

I would love a copy of that!
    Great artwork and general flow.
Of course the Psych art was also used on the US 7" sleeve of Mother's Little Helper, an alternate Dutch 7" sleeve of Let's Spend The Night Together & the cover photo of the Stones Sept-Oct 66' UK Tour Program.

The pdf's above are 300dpi. You can copy, save and print with any number of graphic programs. The sizes in inches are 300dpi, insert: 9.56" x 5.0" and back panel: 5.9" x 4.85".

I'm sure that you have the music. ;)

    Thanks and great work!
Yes the mainstay is the stunning late 80's London Aftermath CD with UK tracklisting, when you get hold of one you are friends for life!

I have a copy of that one, also the London UK Let It Bleed. I certainly cherish those CDs, but the MONO box is my GO TO now. To my ears, Goin' Home finally delivered a solid punch.

I don't use jewel cases anymore, I switched to Jazzloft vinyl sleeves several years ago for space/storage reasons. When I do a CDR project like this I sometimes make an inner sleeve for the CDR, to slide into the pouch in front of the back panel:

This one is 400dpi (for some reason). I left the actual album track listing on the record labels... I didn't rejig it for my custom edition sequence. :kilroy:

Well, nobody burns CDR's anymore... except for me. It was a great way to trade rare music 10 or 15-years ago, before Dropbox and WeTransfer, etc.
