I wonder if we will ever see the day that the CMA recognizes a pedal steel guitarist as Musician of the Year (sigh)......

Bradley, I nothing about these winners. Are you in agreement with the choices?

These actually are great choices, after all the CMA awards are a popularity contest.

I'm a big George Strait fan but missed his induction into the HoF. From what I heard Kristofferson's intro of George was really lousy.

As for the picks, I think Keith's "Tonight I Wanna Cry" should've beaten Brooks & Dunn. I'm wondering how much of the going into rehab thing hurt him in winning other than "Male Vocalist of the Year", or were these winners chosen before that?

I haven't watched the whole thing, DVR'd it, been skimming it, but Brad Paisley's song "She's Everything" was great, nice cut shots to his wife too. I always forget how good of a guitar player he is.

There was a band (2 guys & 2 girls) that sang last night, the song sounded a lot like "Chains" by Fleetwood Mac. I wasn't overly fond of their performance, ended up fast forwarding through it.

Gretchen Wilson = Overrated. IMO. I just can't stand her, her and Big & Rich and that whole "outlaw" thing they have going on, they don't seem very outlaw-ish to me, just sort of following the country/pop trend that everyone else is doing, but they just don't seem to be doing as well. I think they're just trying to hard to be different.

When did Ronnie Dunn start trying to look like Keith Urban? heh.

The winners were chosen before Keith Urban went to rehab by the industry, they just don't announce them until the show is first telecast.

But Brooks & Dunn are on RCA so they win. More votes.

Look at how many of the winners are on the various RCA labels. Hmmmm. :)

Maybe she watched John Kerry to work up that reaction? Anyway, I have NEVER been even remotely impressed by Faith Hill. In my opinion, VASTLY OVER-RATED.

This will be fixed next year when Sony finally buys everybody.

I would have liked them to give a little more recognition to Alan Jackson's "Precious Memories" since making it was a pretty cool thing for him to do, but he did get a few nominations, and it's not exactly like he's the Susan Lucci of the CMAs. :)

    Regards,

    WHAT!...

    Faith Hill didn't win?

I'm still not sure if that reaction was real or not, because from what it looks like, if you see her, just before the "WHAT" reaction, it appears that she can't hear and she looks to be asking someone who won. Personally, I could really care less who won in that catagory, as woman, for the most part, have been phoning in their performances, since Patsy Cline died, if you ask me!
