I can't see this thread ever having an end. It's a living entity.

So at some milestone point, are you going to produce a The Mess Picks list? With your personal favorites? There's gotta be something in it for you after all of this hard work!

I have been thinking about that as well. At some point, I think that I should post a list with my favourite cover of each Beatles song.

Maybe it would be interesting to put together an imaginary Beatles cover album series?

I am also very interested in seeing other forum members choices of their favourite covers. Hopefully a few people will wade through the list and listen to a few, and then post their favourites.

Thanks for posting these, I have added them to the list. That Scribblers article was actually very interesting.

Here's one that came with an Uncut Magazine George Harrison tribute CD a few years ago. I've played this to Beatles loving friends and family who haven't had a clue what song it is until half way through. I really like this one (even though this isn't my style of music!)-

Adrian Belew covered "Blackbird" on a compilation disk
Same for "Come and Get It". (It's a Beatle song : see Anthology 3)
He performed "Across The Universe " live during his solo shows and recorded for a live album that hasn't been released yet)

Julian Lennon recorded "When I'm 64" for a comercial.

This is a fairly obscure one. Soul/Rock/Funk Violinist Don "Sugarcane" Harris with an epic cover of "Eleanor Rigby" from his 1971 LP, "Fiddler On The Rock."
