Thanks for this. For a while I've been trying to put together a soul artists version of the White album. Will use this to see if I can fill in some gaps.

Great list! Great use for OneNote also. I copied the list to a page. We need a place to easily store and update this list. Wikipedia maybe?

The list for "Yesterday" is missing thousands of entries. :hide:

An interesting list would be songs that share their name with a Beatles song but are actually completely unrelated songs - for example, Love Me Do by Badfinger.

A guy called Gil Bateman released a version of 'The Night Before" in 1967. I can't find a video of it though.

Think he's from the Northwest, have another 45 by him that's pretty hard rocking.

Yep. His rendition of Hoyt Axton's "Daddy Walked in Darkness" is pretty intense. One of my favorites from the region. :)

The Nitty Gritty Dirt band recorded a great bluegrass cover of "What Goes On" during the sessions for 'Uncle Charlie' and it was included as a bonus track on the remaster. Also not on YouTube but this version kills the original, that's for sure.

The Rainbow Press recorded a psychedelic version of "I'll Cry Instead" in 1969 for their second album. It's pretty enjoyable really.

Gil Bateman recorded with Panorama and Picadilly and Jerden in Seattle in the 1960s. He also produced The Bards and the New Yorkers (later the Hudson Brothers) for Seattle’s Jerden Records before joining Elektra Records in New York on the business side and promoting artists like The Doors, Judy Collins, Bread and Carly Simon — helping to build Elektra from an independent into a major label.

A few more covers... Bobby Vee recorded the following on 2 different LPs released in 1964:
Do You Want To Know A Secret
    Love Me Do
P.S. I Love You ....all were part of medleys on the LP 30 Big Hits Of The 60s, which is not on CD

    From Me To You
She Loves You ... from Bobby Vee Sings The New Sound From England

Here is She Loves You.. very similar arrangement to the original, and I like it!

That truly is an amazing list. As a fellow Beatlehead I applaud you...BRAVO!!!

You've listed a few of my favorite covers:

    Godhead - 'Eleanor Rigby'
Dweezil Zappa - 'Any Time At All'
The entire Laibach album of 'Let It Be'

A few that I don't think were on the list:

U2 covered 'Help' on one of their tours, don't know if it was part of a soundcheck or was actually in the show. I think it may have been on the European tour for 'Unforgettable Fire'. Very slowed down version with a great Bono vocal.

Laurence Jubers' 'LJ Plays The Beatles' has an AMAZING cover of 'In My Life'....hell, the whole album should be on the list it's that good.

I guess PM Dawn won't make the list even though they made good use of "How does it feel to be on of the....." from 'Baby You're a Rich Man'. Also, Bougeois Tagg covered I think 'Love You Too/Tomorrow Never Knows' live. I saw them open for Heart and I'm 99% positive that it was on that tour...around 88/89

Again, fantastic list. Thanks for all the hard work in coming up with this list.
