DONE! well, not really after more than two and a half years of a full-time job on a project that I originally thought was something I would spend a couple of weeks on I am pretty much done with researching but have thousands of pages of notes for additional covers or more information on ones that are already listed also a lot of clean-up on what I already have about 30,000 covers so far over 20,000 youtube links May 9, 2017 complete list – all on one large page by Song Title by Artist Name complete list – all on one smaller page - song title and artist name only by Song Title by Artist Name recent additons not yet on individual song list pages
All I can say is that I am extremely grateful and thankful to you for the huge amount of effort that you have put into this project, and I am sure that it will be appreciated by thousands of Beatles fans for many years to come! When I first started trying to compile this list, I had no idea that you would get involved and expand it so much, or that you would add the Youtube links, put it all in such a great order and create such a helpful webpage. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it. Thank you for the great job that you have done!
Worth a repeat , the first MonaLisa Twins cover to have over 1,000,000 views on youtube . While My Guitar Gently Weeps
I don't think I saw this one on your list (apologies if it's on there) -- fantastic rendition of She Loves You by Clapton's backup singer Marcy Levy (later Marcella Detroit, one half of Shakespears Sister) during Eric's '85 tour: Really love how this highlights the natural beauty of the song. IMO if Paul won't do this song as is, I'd love to hear him tackle a bluesy, stripped down version like this even for a verse or so, kind of like his YNGMYM in '02.
Last Friday, May 5, 2017, we had a small local concert in my sleepy little hometown of Friedrichshafen, Germany, and this new band performed a quite different version of "Dear Prudence" with tenor saxophone. The guy who plays the saxophone is a colleague of mine, and it was their first public performance together. I offered to do some sound video recordings of their concert, and this is one of the videos I have made. I personally really liked it with the saxophone. I was quite happy how the video turned out, considering that I was the only cameraman and audio recording guy to catch the performance.
Great thread! You may already have this but stumbled on this amazing 1969 cover of Happiness is a Warm Gun the other day whilst trying to compile a playlist of contemporary WA covers. It sounds like something from a Wes Anderson movie!
