Of course, I have to mention that Alanis Morissette turned the Black Eyed Peas' "My Humps" into a piano ballad:

"Bizarre Love Triangle," perhaps New Order's greatest achievement (in its 12-inch single mix), was re-imagined as a tender acoustic ballad by Frente! in 1994:

Neil Young's "After the Gold Rush" was covered a cappella by the British group Prelude in 1974. Here's a live version where they corrected the misheard lyric "1917" that appears on the studio recording.

Rebecca Moore's distorted, stretched-out, and viscerally arranged cover of T. Rex's "Telegram Sam" is virtually unrecognizable:

The whole tribute album, "Great Jewish Music: Marc Bolan" (on Tzadik Records, released in the mid-'90s), is full of weird covers, but this one was the most "out there".

This is freakin hilarious, catchy and clever. If rap was more like this I'd actually like the genre.

Perhaps I missed it, but I'm surprised that Cowboy Junkies' version of "Sweet Jane" wasn't mentioned.

Since I suspect that the latter is not known to many people reading this, here's the original. Madeon was a teenager when he produced this from his bedroom, a YouTube star who is now world famous.

I only knew of I Put A Spell On You from Creedence's version and All Tomorrow's Parties from The Velvets and nothing else, so found them all really nice....

The Pet Shop Boys have been cited here a few times for their covers so what say we flip the script with a cover of one of their own. Then let's flip the script again by having them produce said cover.
