Yes, I know the title isn't I Love the Flower Girl, but this is just pure energy and happiness. At least for us. Actually, I believe this is a rehearsal before the "live" show. So now we have this and last summer I posted the rehearsal of the Rolling Stones "Lets Spend the Night Together" and "Ruby Tuesday". I believe there is much, much more. Attention Ron Howard!

Wow, I hadn't heard that song in years and I had no idea who it was by. Thank you so much. I'm going to check out more Cowsills music!

I guess this is what the broadcast audio sounded like:

    It's Hollywood Palace I believe.

I was 7 when it came out. Still in my top 10 of all-time favorite songs. I play it for my daughter, a flower girl who's six years old.

Actually the clip's got only two-thirds of the tune...the middle verse "I knew I had to say...hello", etc...isn't performed.

Dig the drumstick twirl John pulls off at the beginning!

One of my favorites too...never saw or heard anything but the studio track (slightly different mixes mono/stereo) until now.

At least the Revolver TV guy isn't forcing his brand mark on the entire video picture this time. Maybe he will go back and do the same with "Hair?"

This version is an amazing improvement over the broadcast version I posted with the vocal mix all screwed up. Different audio source. I wonder what else lurks in the Hollywood Palace archives?

That's a terrific clip. Really well preserved video and they sound GREAT. So much better than the broadcast version (was it actually broadcast live...?) Susan is just adorable there, too...

As someone else asked, it makes you wonder what else of this quality is lurking in the Hollywood Palace archive?

I thought this was from the Ed Sullivan Show?

If you can, might want to fix the typo in your thread title. Just sayin'.

One of them later said that Ed had alcohol on his breath and they were disappointed by that. Maybe the audio/video had a nip too, judging by the huge audio mistakes on the beginning of the live broadcast. Nevertheless, he said they were just excited to be on the same stage that John, Paul, George, and Ringo were on.

Wow... very tight, and a good performance. Yes, I'm sure there are many quadruplex tape treasures waiting to be dug up from the 60's.

  21. Great clip! It seems to be an actual performance. It's can be hard to tell because The Cowsills sometimes created a tape just for a show and lip-synced to it.

I'm guessing that the Cowsills videos aren't so sought out by collectors as some of his other videos that he watermarks.
On the other hand, I salute him for making his videos available to us even with the watermarks. Otherwise most of us would NEVER get the chance to see any of them. He does what he does (and perhaps what he must do) and I'm glad to see the videos. Would you rather that he not make them available at all? Not me.

I think what we have here IS a decent compromise between not making videos available at all and having the word "Revolver" emblazoned over the entire screen image for the duration of the performance (as we saw with the Cowsills' "Hair," as well as the Beatles and John Lennon clips the Revolver person posted over the last few months).

I knew John in the 80s when he played drums with Jan & Dean. At one gig, John played drums with the Mama's and Papa's and I remember he was extremely nervous playing with John Philips because John thought of him as a little kid. I guess I can understand that as he was a kid when they had their hits, but boy could he play.
