    Hello esteemed forum.

Just as the thread title implies, create your own supergroup. Who would you like to see merge in a Voltron-like fashion and wreak havoc on the music world?

    Here are the ground rules:

    1. Group needs to have the following 5 members (at least):
    -Vocalist
    -Guitarist
    -Bassist
    -Keyboardist/Piano
    -Drummer
-NOTE: If a member can fill 2 roles (guitar and vocals), that's cool

    2. You can use only 1 member from an existing band to populate your supergroup

    3. Any musician, dead or alive, is at your disposal

    4. EDIT: Totally voluntary, give your supergroup a name

Here's mine as an example (and I have no clue if they would even sound good playing together, plus I haven't given it much thought):

    -Guitar: Angus Young
    -Bass: John Entwistle
    -Drums: Charlie Watts
    -Keyboards/Piano: Jerry Lee Lewis
    -Vocals: Freddie Mercury

    Have fun!

After reading the OP, the first 3 names that popped into my head for drummer, bass and piano were Elvin, Mingus and Monk, so you read my mind there. For guitar I think I would go with Duane Allman, and Jim Morrison on vocals. At first I was thinking Robert Johnson on guitar and vocals, but I don't think that would work well with the jazz musicians. Allman and Morrison could pull it off though.

Too many Johns, too many clashing ideals/egos perhaps, and it would never work, but it would be a trip to see it once....

I've always wondered what a supergroup of Randy Newman, Brian Wilson, Van Dyke Parks, and Harry Nilsson would have been like.
It doesn't fit the criteria, but that's the one I would most like to see.
