    Hi:

Was reading an older thread on the Eagles record Hotel California and was wondering what multitrack and stereo mix down decks were used for that record and other records in the time period. In general I am enjoying researching the MCI series of recorders. It is interesting to see what desks and recorders were used for what records.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Mack Emmerman's Criteria Studios was a test site for Jeep Harned's MCI (Music Center, Incorporated) and a lot of prototype gear got used at Criteria and also at the Henry Stone studio facilities. Most likely the JH 24 tape machines got used for the tracking, the JH 110B 2 track machines for mixdown, and the consoles being most likely JH 500 or JH 600 consoles. Usually Criteria had the latest and greatest of what MCI built, and usually were the first to have it.
