Haven't seen any of these. Are they any good?

The Lodger would definitely worth seeing in restored form as this has flooded the public domain collections forever. Straw Dogs is legendary.

Ugetsu is great  - in fact, it's considered by many to be among the greatest films ever made.

I know that Andrey Tarkovsky named it among his top 10 favorite films. Enough said.

2 years ago, I purposely spent less than $10. on the Criterion DVD of Straw Dogs, knowing it was only a matter of time for the BD upgrade to happen. Now no matter how little I get for it, it'll be fine.
Also in for They Live By Night.

It's worth noting that a couple of extras on the 2003 DVD of Straw Dogs are not mentioned in the new listing: the vintage Dustin Hoffman featurette (which contains some great footage of Peckinpah directing), and the isolated score and effects track.

I'll be upgrading to the new BD, but still keeping the old DVD.

The older I get, the less I care about such things. I'll be the only one watching these, and I rarely ever watch extras a second time. Very rarely.

Each to his own. I'm very much the opposite -- especially for a film such as this, a long-time personal favourite. I may not watch the extras often, but I certainly wouldn't sell an edition that contained unique features.

Nice to see Straw Dogs get upgraded to Blu-ray. Now if we could get to Häxan, Do the Right Thing, or even CC's first DVD ever, Grand Illusion, that would be neat.

Not Criterion, but there is a pretty decent Studio Canal version of La Grande Illusion available on Blu-ray already:

They Live By Night is my favorite Noir. Gun Crazy and Nightmare Alley are in my top 5 so I hope someone has plans...

I'd definitely in for 'Ugetsu' and possibly for 'The Lodger.' I think that's all.
