George needs to see the Doc that Simon LeBon visited a few years ago when he had voice problems and had to postpone the "All You Need Is Now" Duran Duran tour.

Maybe just "George", since he dropped the drag thing long ago and is now unambiguously male.

But then again, the Pet Shop Boys were already older that most pop acts when they started, and they're well into middle age now.

It doesn't surprise me at all, if would have surprised me, if they had toured. Cause Boy George has serious voice problems for years and only has a range of limited notes left. Years ago he was touring Germany with the "Night of the Proms" and it was painful to watch him singing his songs with two or three notes...
And this clip shows that it hasn't really gotten much better. Maybe the operation will help. They were a good live act, sadly the image thing got too much attention.

When I saw the tour would have a couple triple-nighters I knew then he'd be in trouble.

George has been taking a lot of flak recently for his vocals and rightly so, I have seen three live televised appearances recently and on every one his voice was completely shot. Hope this operation works for him.

He should just do what Huey Lewis does (with voice problems/limited range): hire someone in the backing band to cover the parts he can't sing and lip sync to them. Most audiences these days cannot tell the difference.

Yes, I'm kidding... about it being something he should do... not about the rest of it.

Sad. He was a veritable Placido Domingo in his prime.

couldn't he just do an ala Brian Wilson with Boy George back up singers?

I watched a doco about George recently. What a mess his life has been at certain times.

He was in Chicago last week as a DJ for an overpriced cocktail party at the David Bowie Is exhibit.

Yeah, and 99.9% of anybody asked who had even heard of Motörhead would struggle to name another song of theirs other than Ace Of Spades, including me. Great character but talk about a one trick pony.

You don't say? A group that's continued to record and perform outsells one that, for all intents and purposes, disbanded about 25 years ago?
