"Curb Your Enthusiasm" officially returning for a ninth season.

I have a feeling I know why he's doing the show again, and it isn't just money. If I'm right, he cannot work too slowly. HBO has only about 40 months to get the show on the air.

As with the past few seasons, I'll wait for the DVDs to hit the local library.

J.B. Smoove went on Howard Stern's show a year or two ago and did an open appeal to Larry David on the air, begging him to bring back Curb Your Enthusiasm. So Mr. Smoove very definitely wants to do more episodes.

As he put it, the problem with Larry is that he has $500 million in the bank from Seinfeld, so he doesn't exactly need to work. There's not a lot of incentive there.

 

Cool to see a promo for the show leading into GOT, way to get the word out!

 

So one could assume there must be a reason other than money for David to bring the show back at this time. Hmmmmmm . . .

 

I'm thinking three things: 1) it gets him out of the house and gives him something to do; 2) it allows him to employ dozens of people so they can make a living; 3) he gets to be creative and tell more jokes and more stories.

 

He's not a young man. Maybe he's wondering whether or not he's still got 'it'! I sure hope so, it would be really sad if this latest offering isn't at least as funny as the old stuff!

'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Season 9: All the Details (So Far)

 

Here it is... get ready for classic non-sequiturs!!

 

Yay! Thank you so much.

 

All possible factors, but he also has two wonderful daughters and I'm sure he's motivated to give them the best life possible...and he also has various charities, causes, political affiliations he wishes to endow. He's not as unmotivated as he pretends.

 

They seem to have released a few brief synopses of some of the episodes being written for the show:

EPISODE ONE – Through a strange twist of fate, Larry and Bernie Sanders switch places for the day. Wackiness ensues as no one appears to notice the switch, including Cheryl!

EPISODE TWO – Larry finds out that Richard Lewis voted for Donald Trump, but Richard cannot remember how or why. Wackiness ensues as Larry tries to find out.

EPISODE THREE – Wanda is being deported! Wackiness ensues as Larry tries to help but just makes matters worse.

EPISODE FOUR – Larry inadvertently joins a California secession movement when he is talked into joining by a shapely recruiter who distracts Larry with her “attributes”. Wackiness ensues as Larry tries to extricate himself from the movement after he finds out they want to construct a windmill farm in the lot adjoining his property.

EPISODE FIVE – Larry’s invitation to a Hillary Clinton fundraiser crosses in the mail with a Trump supporter’s invitation to a Trump 2020 event. Wackiness ensues when . . . well . . . you can guess the type of wackiness that would ensue in such situation.

 

Betting's good that the above scenarios are not too far from the mark.
Trump's America is too great an opportunity for wackiness ensuing.
Cannot wait!

Never saw this show during its heyday. Now as I'm going back and watching a few episodes he's still mentally typecast in my mind as Bernie Sanders.
