re: green Spotify vinyl I just received mine yesterday, shortly after emailing them and getting the reply, "Our first allotment of these LPs were short, and we’re currently working with the label for further inventory to get these shipped out." Their customer service is abysmal - no updates whatsoever - but in this case their wording was accurate.
Hate? I don't hate it. But I would not say it has three great new songs. I would call it "one pretty good new song and two kind of 'meh' new songs and mildly interesting rehashes of songs that were better in there original forms*." I would definitely say it's not even close to being his best album. Of course, that's just my opinion. * I'm not sure, but So Bad might be slightly better here than on Pipes Of Peace. But even if it is, it's not by much. [I haven't A/B'd them recently.] For the rest, I definitely prefer the originals.
They have? Part 2, chart and at least one vinyl (maybe shipping? I never clicked on it) were alive and kicking as of a few hours ago.
I never noticed this but you're right! Not a lot of talk show or TV appearances (For interviews) at all in the 1970s...Maybe a couple late 70s? Did Columbia tell him he had to get out there more to promote his albums when he joined them?
Definitely. Especially the 1984 Playboy interview onwards. That one is probably one of the better interviews from the time.
I'm not sure but I did just get shipping confirmation for mine (can't remember which color I ordered) this week...a few days after it had been shipped, according to the tracking number they gave me. It's supposed to arrive today.
For my money, it may not hold a candle to them, but it wipes the floor with them (I Don't Know excepted).
And this is ongoing, since it's still getting in and out of stock, they took new orders as recent as 2 days ago.
Apropos of something rather different, I just want to say I like the Come On To Me video: Fred's got the moves. A wonderfully enthusiastic performance and, as a video, a nice presentation of how music can make people feel happy, which is sort of McCartney's calling card, really, if you think about it. Hasn't really inspired an army of copycat videos, however, and the video itself has only 150k views, which is at the lower end of okay (to make this item "newsy", as per thread topic).
How they take new orders? I check every day but I’ve never seen it... there was the order button available?
Every now and then throughout the past few weeks, sometimes 1 copy available, 5 copies available, 3 copies available...
Yeah, I got higher the second viewing. LOL Classic Linda quote: “The critics are always 3 years behind. “
