Sad news I feel sympathy for Julian and the rest of her loved ones.

She was thrust under a microscope when she was married to John. She always kept her dignity in a difficult situation, she must have been an exceptional person.

And God knows she had good reason to carry a grudge after the appalling way that she was treat by her ex husband. She deserved much better than that idiot.

I've gotta say that in a thread about Cynthia's unfortunate passing, I get a little uncomfortable when folks try to fan the flames of controversy regarding John. Let's honor Cynthia here and keep griping about John for a different thread.

Of course, I get a little weird also when in an RIP thread folks start to talk about who the best looking Beatles wife was , so maybe I'm too old school when it comes to RIP threads.

Thanks for this. My intention when starting the thread was to honor Cynthia and I think your reminder about tone/focus was timely.

Actually, the 5th Beatle's 2nd wife and former secretary. Ol' George wasn't quite as upstanding as most of us initially believed...

My wife interviewed Cynthia over the phone in 1995, and then we met her in person at a local Beatles convention a short time later. My wife had her autograph the newspaper interview they had done (which is still hanging framed in our home office) and I had my copy of her "Those Were The Days" CD single signed that had been released around that time period. She was a lovely lady, and very friendly in person.

    RIP

    Tears. tears, and more tears.....
So sad to hear this......One always felt she carried herself with great dignity through what must have been at many times a difficult burden to bear.
    RIP Cyn

    Classy.

That "idiot" inspired countless artists to do what they do.
This is a thread about the passing of Cynthia Lennon, not a judgment call.

  18. John treated her pretty crappy while they were married. It seems that after they split, he treated her better when he did interact with her.

RIP. She found a man that treated her better and loved her.

This is very sad news. I feel very bad for Julian, and hope that he is alright at what must be a horrible time. Cynthia seemed like a warm, kind, tough and intelligent person, and I hope that she enjoyed what must have been an 'up and down' yet exciting life.

Her passing has made me think of these lyrics:

    ''There are places I'll remember
All my life, though some have changed
    Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life, I've loved them all''

    R.I.P. Cynthia.
