I was reminded yesterday about Toto and started looking for my Toto IV. Unfortunately, I've turned the house upside down and cannot find it. If I can't come up with it, any recommendations on which version I should pick up?(Discogs shows over 200 of them!) I have equipment to play any version -- vinyl, SACD/CD, DVD-Audio, etc. Thanks for any suggestions.

What does that mean? Can you be more specific?

If you do a search you will find plenty of information on here. The original US vinyl with TML in the deadwax denotes pressing plant. There was also a Sterling edition at the same time but the TML is generally favoured, certainly I prefer it. TML - The Mastering Lab IIRC.

Have you looked in your bicycle basket?

Seriously, I have the Anadisc 200 and an original pressing. The Anadisc isn't worth the extra money, IMO. Different without being better is how I'd describe it.

Thanks for the replies! What about a CD or SACD version? Is there a preferred one?

Are any of the pressing less “loud?” It’s a well recorded album, and really deserves a truly audiophile pressing done by someone with decent hearing. Every pressing including digital that I’ve heard sound terrific at lower volumes, but you go to crank them and it becomes noise.

Does anyone have the Music on Vinyl issue?

  11. Wait for the new version this fall. Have heard some of the masterings via the 40 Trips compilation, and they are fantastic.
