Craig was 5-10 and Moore was 6-1, the rest were 6-2
Average age has been almost 40 with Moore the oldest and Connery the youngest. I didn't count but did the oldest and youngest do the most films?

As noted earlier, Lazenby was the youngest...

Yeah, but at 32 Connery looked a bit older and, imho, aged fast. You look at him in "You only live twice" and he looked waaay older than 37. Not to mention his look on "Diamonds are forever", he was 41 but looked 50

Brosnan was 43 in Goldeneye but if compared to "Diamonds" Connery, he almost could pass for his son!

Moore was actually incredibly great looking for a 46 y.o. in "Live and let die"

And this is Craig 4 years ago at the 2012 BAFTA, he was 44 here..

that said, EON only produces Bond films and nothing else, so they could easily make a Bond every two years, like they used to. Heck, basically it's just two people calling the shots, Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, so it's not like they have bosses .
Warners could deliver a Potter movie every year, BV/Marvel are making two every year, not exactly "easy" films to produce.
I don't know why they went the one every three-four years route...laziness? If really Craig quits, I believe they'll pick a young one, easily under 40 or not older than 35 when the shooting begins.

If they pick a guy that's older than 40, then it could mean they have plans to release at least 2 or three every two years.

And of course if the want another "blonde, not very tall" Bond, they can hire Jeremy Renner, who could pass for Daniel Craig's slightly younger brother :D

Hard to have finesse if it's not written into the scrip.

Yeah, Connery looked terrible in "Diamonds" - he looked 20 years older than he had 4 years earlier! And he was paunchy, too...

They could - I just get the impression they won't. Other than the gap between "Casino" and "QoS", the "every 2 years" thing seems to have died in the 90s...

I suspect I'll go to my grave without an understanding of all the love that movie gets. It's a pretty good film, but it loses major points due to Lazenby's poor acting. I also thought Telly Savalas wasn't a good Blofeld...

Please, producers. Just make Bond younger. I can't take anymore "007, you're out of shape and over the hill" scenes.

The only film that Bond was really fit was Casino Royale with all parkour jumping on the opening chase scene.

People need to be able to understand what Bond is saying.

Craig has crapped on James Bond long enough. If he's gone I won't miss him. But he's not been the only problem. A much bigger problem has been the producers, who are in over their heads. They are not really filmmakers, not really creative people. For years I've been wishing the Bond films were made by an entirely different group who would bring a fresh energy and positive insight to the franchise. Discerning, creative people who know how to make movies and tell spy stories. If only Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson would step out of the creative process, or sell the franchise.

Imo their's only been 5 classic James Bond movies in the past fifty odd years.

I'm not really keen on any of those for the role.
I haven't seen Elba in action but a black guy in hte role could detract too much from the established theme.
I wasn't keen on Hiddleston's performance in The Night Manager but that had a lot to do with the director (close-ups of him squirming uncomfortably in plain sight of the gang he was infiltrating).
Lewis has a funny little face which has always bothered me. Good actor, though a little bland.
Bell looks too impish, boyish and not a menace.
Turner is good looking, hunky (and he's very good in BBC's Poldark). Perhaps the best choice?
    Norton looks tough-guy ordinary.
Gillian Anderson? Do me a favour.

Craig brought a refreshing harder aspect to Bond. A ruthless, stone-faced, killing machine. I enjoyed the films also (apart from the second one).
Tom Hardy only seems to have one expression but then so did Craig and Roger Moore. I thought Mad Max: Fury Road was terrific but he added nothing to the film at all.
Clive Owen would be a good choice but is he too old now? How about Gerard Butler?

I like Craig but any Bond is only going to be as good as the scripts and directors they are given to work with.

Craig started so well, then a rapid script decline. Saying that ...all his films made a ton of money, so somebody must have liked them.

BTW, this version of Casino Royale was included as an extra feature with the 1967 Casino Royale movie (the 2002 DVD release).

Yup - that's the only reason I've seen it! Too bad they dropped it for the 2007 DVD and for the Blu-ray.

The 1950s "Casino Royale" is more entertaining than I expected. Barry Nelson is totally wrong for the part, but the show has its moments...

The really interesting thing about Climax Theater's "Casino Royale" episode in 1954 is the supporting performance by Michael Pate. The British character actor with his lean, swarthy looks was best known for playing Indians in American westerns -- Vittorio in HONDO, for instance. But here he is an English actor playing American CIA agent Clarence (not Felix) Leiter. In his tux and with precise diction, the English Pate is actually doing James Bond with an American accent. Take another look. In a few short scenes, he nails it.

I would like to have seen Climax Theater do the next novel "Live and Let Die" with Michael Pate playing Bond. He was perfect for the role.
