    Dr. NO, NO, NO!

Read the novels in chronological order
    ...

You will understand and appreciate the development of the character of James Bond significantly more by following his adventures/experiences chonologically.

The films were NOT released in the correct order
(Dr. No was the first film; but the SIXTH book of the Ian Fleming novels!)

    Original Novel Order:

    Casino Royale (1953)
    Live and Let Die (1954)
    Moonraker (1955)
    Diamonds Are Forever (1956)
    From Russia with Love (1957)
    Doctor No (1958)
    Goldfinger (1959)
    For Your Eyes Only (1960)
    Thunderball (1961)
The Spy Who Loved Me (1962)
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1963)
    You Only Live Twice (1964)
The Man with the Golden Gun (1965)
Octopussy and the Living Daylights (1966)

If for some reason you must go out of 0rder, it is sacrilege to break the trilogy of OHMSS, Live Twice and Golden Gun.

What about Kate Beckinsale? She is English, has already been part of a franchise, knows her way around weapons and can carry an action movie.

Those are very interesting books, read in a row. You Only Live Twice is a strange novel, part travelogue, part revenge drama.

What about Sebastian Stan as the next Bond if DC doesn't come back.

Daniel Craig still in running ( not as fast as he used to be I bet, though :)).

  13. I thought when Craig made his statement he was 1) burned out and needed to recharge 2) exhausted from the previous shoot/promotion and 3) was tired of being asked the same question about Bond. It also have him wiggle room and be able to ask for more money to return. It's somewhat like Sean Connery before "Diamonds Are Forever". They tried Bond without him and it didn't work for many audience members. Here it is more about Craig recognizing his Bond films have been among the most commerically successful of all time and knowing it as well.

No one else is good enough to play BOND as of 2017.
Give's the producers a few more years to find someone suitable.

They should try to get Henry Cavill if Craig turns it down. It would also be interesting to see Benedict Cumberbatch as a villain.

Cavill has the looks obviously, but does he have the acting chops?

How about a wild card - Casey Affleck?

I don't see Affleck as a 'man of action' type and besides, he has that voice that sounds like it's still working its way out of puberty.

If You Only Live Twice film used the novel (as OHMSS did) for the basis of the movie, it would have been a far better and more interesting film, IMHO.

There isn't any books left to make a Bond film from, right?

According to an IMDB biography, Bond was mid-late 30s in the books. Technically "middle aged" based on average life spans, but I don't think anyone thinks of 37 as really "middle aged" - that's more for old people in their 40s like me! :D

There's no more books by Ian Fleming, but there have been other authors that wrote Bond novels after Fleming died.
